A little known fact and place of which happened in MY TIME!

So I did a Google search on:

This all happened 30 years ago,

yet it only seems like yesterday!

I was 30 years younger and the news was not a part of my life at the time.

I was to involved in relationships and family beginnings.

I cry when I read Hecktic Travels post because so many people

lost their chance at even a life. 

So many babies killed in front of their mothers! 

(The KILLING TREE).

I don't know if I could of changed the world then.

As a kid, you think you are invincible and CAN DO ANYTHING!

If this could of happened in MY LIFETIME,

What will happen in my children's lifetime?

Or even Grandchildren?

With the way events are happening, 

and the SECRET AGENDA our current leader has,

(I know he has a secret agenda! It just hasn't been made public!)

Who knows what is going to happen next!

Khmer Rouge had a secret agenda and he accomplished it!

Can we all say:

HUNGER GAMES?

Really it is not that far fetched!

I have been entertaining the idea of repainting my WHOLE HOUSE!

Just on the inside.

(Still entertaining the idea)

I thought I would start slow and small.

A few years back, I painted my laundry room.

Then I started on the master bath.

My biggest problem is deciding on the color.

If I knew what color, then I would of had my house painted a long time ago.

I am tired of the white, so I am going with COLOR!

Yes! I painted 90 percent of the bathroom with this 1' brush!

I figured I would be done, the second Tuesday of next week!

I can not find any before photos, but that is ok, cause it was just boring white.

SHE PAINTS WITH A 1" BRUSH TOO!

Well there really is a SECOND TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK!

Because TADA...

I am done!

This is our master bath.

I even got our secondary Bathroom finished!

For Obvious Reason!

Peaches, moving on:

Back when I was looking for a "PONY", it was for the grand-kids. I had hunted high and low, and finally found one a few hours away from us. I bought her pretty much sight unseen, and only thru photographs. 

I was a nervous wreck before she got here, and then I did not know what I was getting myself into.

Well as it turned out, Peaches was worth her weight in gold as a PONY! She did not have that "pony" attitude! She was calm! She loved her charges. She loved being with the KIDS! and anybody really. She went anywhere I would take her. I could put anything on her, over her and under her, and she took everything in stride. She did not get nervous, flighty or upset.  I found nothing that surprised her!

Well things did not go as planned and Peaches got bored. Then I think she got depressed. She did not have little children come to play with her, as I might of thought. 

The kids still wanted to "ride Wibby".  Peaches was a miniature Libby and blended well with my herd. Star paired up with her, and Buddy had Libby all to himself. Things went well. But I noticed as time went on, that Peaches just was not happy. It broke my heart.

So I put the word out that at first if there was any children that wanted to ride a pony that did not have one, nor could keep one, that I was willing to have them come over and ride her. I would supervise of course. But that did not happen. 

Then I put the word out that she was for sale. I did not advertise but only by word of mouth. I wanted her to go to a GOOD home, and did not want to get scammed by someone off of Craig's list or other "for sale" sites. 

Someone was interested. For the same reasons I originally bought Peaches. Peaches was checked out. Reviewed. Rode. and Led. Peaches so far had passed all the tests from the new prospective owners.

They wanted to try out Peaches for a week. I agreed because I like to "pay it forward". When I bought Libby, I got to 'try' her out for "THREE WEEKS!"  You want to make sure they will be a good fit.

Peaches loaded up rather quickly in this wonderful three horse trailer that showed up to take her for a trial run. It was like she was telling me, "I am off on a new adventure!" and was eager to go!

It was a very long week for me. I missed Peaches (Still do), I prayed everything would work out. I knew if given time, Peaches would worm her way into their hearts. She would be on her best behavior and be in the pocket.  She loves attention and has quite the personality too.

She did it! She wormed her way into their hearts. 

Peaches was a surprise for the grand-kids!  And oh what a surprise she was!

I saw this photo on Facebook, and the tears just fell!

(I think it was the Pink Bow!)

Peaches brought smiles to three little kids!

She is the best "first" horse for any child, and I know that she has a wonderful home!

Peaches put the "man" in her back pocket right off the get go.

(I think he kind of liked her a lot right off the get go.)

I do not regret finding Peaches a new home.

But I sure do miss her a lot!

So does Star. 

As a matter of fact Star is quite upset with me for sending Peaches away.

She is forgiving me a little bit each time I visit with her.

(Star sure does hold grudges and is slow to forgive!)

I look forward to reading about Peaches' adventures with her little riders.

Mega Loads are MOVING!

Remember when I made the trip to Sturgis back in 2011? On of the biggest moments of that trip happened at LOLO Pass. I blogged about it here.  Well they are finally moving! Around 10:15 PM last night it journeyed thru Hermiston Oregon on its way to Pendleton where they will stop over for the day, as they only are traveling at night. 

There was the biggest police escort for this convoy I have ever seen! You would of thought a Celebrity was in town. Well I suppose there was. These Mega Loads are incredible!

I am not sure if more Mega Loads will be coming through here or not. But they are traveling at night. I heard their first stop was in Pendleton Oregon, and will continue their journey tonight. If anyone can get some daytime pictures of this incredible move, please share them!

Megaloads Coming To Eastern Oregon Roads

On Nov. 24 massive loads of tar sands equipment — some as long as a football field — will hit the roads of rural Eastern Oregon, traveling from Umatilla through the small towns of Prairie City and John Day to Homedale, Idaho. Activists, Native Americans, rural dwellers and more have been fighting the so-called megaload shipments for three years now in Idaho and Montana, and now the fight has come to Oregon.

A press release from the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) warning Thanksgiving-week travelers that roads will be held up for 20 minutes at a time says the megaloads are of “water purification equipment and parts.” According to the Blue Mountain Eagle, Oregon-based shipping company Omega Morgan confirmed that “the shipments would be parts of giant evaporators, equipment used in power generation and oil sands refinery processes.” The route goes from the Port of Umatilla, east to Pendleton, then south on Hwy. 395 to Mount Vernon and east through John Day and Prairie City on Hwy. 26.

The Canadian tar sands are massive open pit mines that opponents say destroy forests and poison land, water and people in the oil-extraction process. The controversial Keystone XL pipeline, which would ship the dirty tar sands crude across the U.S., and a recent increase in oil-by-rail and oil export proposals in the Northwest are related to climate change-inducing tar sands mining.

In August, the Nez Perce Tribal Council was arrested protesting the megaloads through their lands. Local Native American climate change activist Kayla Godowa Tufti says, “All four Columbia River Treaty Tribes, Umatilla, Yakama, Warm Springs and Nez Perce, issued a resolution opposing the development of the Canadian tar sands oil and the ‘megaloads’ of equipment they require, in August of this year.” She adds, “Though Omega Morgan maintains these evaporators are destined for Nevada, it’s obvious to many of us that this is a blatant lie. From extraction to export, we do not want this destructive industry in our homelands, nor our river. No compromise, no question.”

Holly Zander, a press representative for Omega Morgan, says the company reached out to the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, but the route does not cross tribal lands. It does go through national forest lands. Zander says the loads will not move on the Thanksgiving holiday.

According to ODOT, the first load of water purification equipment and its transport vehicle will be 380 feet long, 23 feet wide and 19 feet tall. The height means the loads cannot be transported on most major highways as they won’t fit under overpasses.

Trish Weber of All Against the Haul, which successfully fought megaloads in Montana, says, “This plan exemplifies the arrogance of Big Oil in thinking that Oregonians will subsidize their transportation costs after they were turned back in Idaho.” She says that Oregonians will “pick up the tab in the form of inconvenience at best and risks to safety and infrastructure at worst.” Weber points out that it was an oversized load carrying housing for drilling equipment that knocked down the I-5 bridge over Washington’s Skagit River last year. The transport company in that instance was Mullen Trucking, a frequent shipper of tar sands equipment. “All other industries build their equipment to fit on our highways, and there is no reason Big Oil shouldn’t either — their desire for profits doesn’t put them above the rules,” she says.

The current load of General Electric water evaporating equipment is scheduled to begin moving Nov. 24, and Christy Jordan, ODOT’s permit manager and freight mobility coordinator, says a permit will not be issued before Nov. 22. Weber says, “ODOT needs to refrain from issuing permits until these applications have undergone a thorough review process, including input from the public.”

Tom Strandberg of ODOT tells EW, “My understanding is that three loads will be part of this permit. There may be requests begin moving additional loads in the future.” He says some fixtures along the route will have to be moved to allow the loads to pass.

Strandberg says representatives of Omega Morgan have been invited to answer questions at the regularly scheduled South East Area Commission on Transportation meeting in Ontario, Ore., on Nov. 25, and an earlier meeting was held in Grant County Nov. 18.

Wild Idaho Rising Tide, which has been protesting and documenting megaloads, is planning “six days of direct action” against the Oregon loads. The group will be joined by 350 Corvallis, Portland Rising Tide and other members of an anti-Keystone XL and anti-fossil fuel infrastructure coalition. Update: The Blue Mountain Eagle is reporting that the loads have hit a snag. The paper is reporting that "Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC) says industrial hauler Omega Morgan may have to wait at least two weeks for line work that’s needed before it can begin its controversial megaload transport through Eastern Oregon."

Update 2: Loads appear to be under way after all.

DIRTY ROTTEN THIEVES!

Technology these days is a wonderful thing. It can either help you or hinder you.

This past Saturday hubby went to use his debit card. And it was DENIED!. He came home thinking we didn't have any money. (He should know better!) I double checked our account online and there was more than enough money to cover any purchases he wanted to make. So we kind of thought maybe it was the machine he was using couldn't read his card. Then Sunday we went out for breakfast and he decided to try his card on breakfast and the card was DENIED once again.

It sure is embarrassing when your debit card gets DENIED at a place of establishment!

Since it was a weekend and a holiday on Monday, we couldn't get a hold of the bank until today. 

Hubby goes to the bank and explains that his card was DENIED. The Gal looked it up and said that you have plenty of money, so that is not the issue. She got to looking further. She made a phone call and she comes back and said that there was two charges in Virginia on Saturday. She says I see by the activity that you were here locally because your card was denied twice locally.

So she said that she'll credit our account and issued hubby a new card, which won't be here for a few days and everything will be good to go again.

If it wasn't for our bank catching this transaction we would've been out almost $500.

The store, who took this fraudulent card, however they took it, weather one was made or whatever, I want the world to know who it was because as a checker I would have questioned these purchases for the amount of money that was rang up. At DOLLAR store for crying out loud!

I Googled these two addresses to get directions and these two stores are only 9 miles apart. The purchases had to of been done first thing on a Saturday morning when the store opened. The thieves drove 9 miles to the other DOLLAR store. Used the card again because the charges did not show up on our account until Sunday the day after because most credit card machines are ran at midnight or at closing.

This #1218 store ran a charge for $226.01.

This store #8841 ran a charge for $204.95.

The thieves not only hurt one person but there's two victims in all of this. We as consumers being ripped off and the store for this fraudulent charge because they won't get their money back! 10 to 1 they don't even know who did it.  Like I said, if I worked there and was a checker, I would of gotten I.D. from them that included their first born!  ID could of been fake, but NOT PICTURE ID! When you're spending over $200 at a dollar store you've got to ask questions! 

I don't know if I have any readers out there that shop at these two stores, but if I do....let me know!

Oh, and by the way, several of my friends that commented on my Facebook about this, had their Cards compromised in the last 3 to 4 weeks! One got a very nice spa treatment in Texas! LOL. Others were used in the mid west also. Just be very vigilant about checking your statements! And a HIGH FIVE to our financial institutions that watch our money!

Snow Geese!

A heard them come in!

The noise was deafening!

It made me walk about,

 and when I looked up,

 The sky was loaded with Snow Geese!

 It was a sight to behold, 

and one I had never seen.

 But I think the snow geese were confused, 

because they were headed due WEST!

Star: Uh Oh! I smell Trouble!

 Yep! It is trouble all right! There is some scary things on that stump!

Buddy: Peaches! You didn't run Fast Enough!

 Peaches: What do you expect from short legs?

 Buddy: I just can't look at you! There is a black blob on your head and you look totally silly!

 Peaches: How is this one? It blends better with my hair coloring.

Libby: Fine! I will entertain mother for you kids!  I actually think I look good in Orange.

Purple? But not so much the cone head thing.

 Okay! I don't need the toupe! I am NOT bald!

 But the blond locks I think work fabulous! 

Thhhhhh! There! NOW can I have my cookies!?

 Buddy:  Ok, This is as far as I am going to let that Orange thing get!

 Black suits me just fine! Blends with my stripe!

 You are NOT, I repeat, NOT going to turn me into a cone head!

Are we done yet? I know Libby and Peaches got some cookies!

 Earlier in the day I had gone and purchased some pumpkins.

Read where they were good for equines.

Well I tossed it out.

Rolled like a bowling ball!

Picked it up and threw it hard on the ground.

Landed with a thud.

On the third try, it finally broke open.

All the while Buddy standing there watching me.

When it broke open, Libby, Peaches and Star sniffed.....

Turned their noses up and walked away.

Buddy was the only one that ate any of it.

 Evidenced by his orange nose here.

 This is the most kissable nose and cheeks ever! 

 This is a conversation between Buddy and Star in that she is telling Buddy that she did not have to model anything because she would not stand still and would not let anything get near her!

I am HOPING, Buddy was telling her it was alright and she had nothing to fear!

ONE GOOD NOTE WITH STAR: I did walk her out the gate and to the trailer!

Second time of being out of the pasture!

There were cookies at the trailer!

Baby steps! Baby Steps!

Another Halloween gone by!

When middle son posted he was going to be the Wolverine, I thought....ummm Okaay!

Then I googled it. (That bitch knows EVERYTHING!)

WOW!

It has been awhile!

And so sorry for that. I am going to try to do much better at keeping my blog up to date. 

Life has been quite crazy as of late. I have two part time jobs and they keep me pretty busy.

I have not gotten to ride Libby as much as I wanted to this year because of this. But I do keep up my weekly riding lessons. 

A couple weekends ago the Umatilla Sage Riders had a play day. I waited all year to take Libby and I did! 

We had a blast! First even was barrels. We began at a trot, and while going around the second barrel, Libby wanted to go one way but I directed her to go the other! Stupid me, broke pattern! I should of listened to my horse! Instead she listened to me, the good girl that she is! When we finished the third barrel, I pointed her to home and boy did she open up! I just hung on for the ride, and it was fantastic! Mostly because I did not fall off! 

We did speed barrels, poles, stake race, and another activity that escapes me right now. I know I had a ton of fun, and want to do more play days. 

I painted up Libby the day before and she was so pretty. But over night she faded to half the brightness of color. She was still pretty for the play day though.

I tried to put eye lashes on but they would not stick. Her lips are only half on and she had eaten that off over night. It tickled to much for her to hold still to do the other side. She tried to be good but it was just to much for her.

Hubby took a few pictures but he doesn't know his camera has a zoom lens, so I am a dot in the landscape.

We are flying like the wind!

I had a lot of fun. Libby thought it was a lot of work! I could not ask for a better horse! 

We have our trailering issue worked out, and I think there are more trips in our future!
