Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines For ALL my Friends!
(Photo is of Simon and Sydney
Yes they are buds
Yes they are quite bonded together)

I probably won't get to post much over the weekend....
So....
I thought I would share pictures with you.
Pictures tell more of a story than I can...

Here is Sissy (L) and Sadie (R)
They think they are going to get more breakfast...
I know they are conversing here...
Sissy: "You think?"
Sadie: "NOT!"

Here is Simon.
My Siamese I always wanted that
wakes up in a new world every day.
His eyes tell the story! LOL
He is so cross eyed.

Here he is outside the fence, looking in....
Wondering.....
"Do I know this place?"

And then there is Screech!
Here he is laying on the dogs couch with Sydney.
Yep, He thinks he's a dog!

This was our last snow, January 24, 2009
It was gone by the next day.....

I came across CAT tracks! YEPPERS!
Not cougar thank goodness....
Nor my cats.....
We have a lot of feral cats around.
but this print was
so crisp.

Then next to that was these.
So different...
I am sure it was a rabbit that passed this way!
This is looking down our lane standing in my front yard.
In the back ground is Hwy 730.

This is the neighbors below us.
The water in the back ground is the Columbia River.

That's All Folks!

My Son the ARRteeesstt.....

My son got a new camera, and he has been taking some pictures with it.
This one is interesting in that the color and design make it work.

This photo is a lot neater in the full size version. But with all the shapes here
I thought it looked good.

Then here is my FAVORITE!
Yep, I really like this one. I have it as my wallpaper
on my computer.

I do think he has an eye for art!
Oh yeah, in case you want to know what my son
looks like...
here he is....

I thought it was a self portrait.
You know the kind that kids these days do.
(I know, I have even been guilty of hanging my arm out there
with the camera attached to it, and "click")
Yes, we all know about it, and have secretly done it...
But I don't think that is the case here.
Just gaze into his sun glasses! :)

My Assignment as I choose to accept it.........

I have been prompted to write about a few things. The following is what I have chosen:

The Prompts:
1.) What was the first CD (or record or cassette) you ever purchased? Write about the way that particular album made you feel then. Write about how it makes you feel now.

Well It was not a CD actually. It was a 45 RPM RECORD! Yes! the very first piece of music I ever bought, and I was only like 12 or 13. It was ELVIS PRESLEY Suspicious Minds! Yes, I played it over and over and over and over. On one of those little electrical tinny sounds record players. See, growing up, we were very poor. Did not have a TV and music was not allowed, only because it drove my mother up a wall. She was not fond of to much noise. She always said it, "grated her nerves". Ummmm.... So officially it was not a CD, but it was the first piece of music I bought.

2.) You were recently laid off. Instead of moping around, you've viewed it as a chance to start fresh. Pick a new career and write about your first day on the job.

Well I can write about this, because, IT REALLY HAPPENED to me! Yesseree it did! Just last October in fact. The company consolidated and my job went away! So I went from the lumber business to: get this.......I got TWO jobs.......One for an oil change outfit, and the other a counselor. What a combination. Three days a week, I work for one, and two days the other. So I feel like I am a yoyo sometimes. But my first day on both jobs, I feel very incompetent, because there was so much to learn. I HATE STARTING a new job, because I like the comfort of my old job. I like the comfort of KNOWING what is going on and having the answer to questions. Well at the oil change outfit, I do know what is going on now, and I have my routine, and I enjoy it. I am still learning at the counselors office, but it is looking up. Someday I will understand EVERYTHING there is know....soon.....

3.) List your five most recent favorite things.

1. My Horse Sissy, and all of my pets. I do have to say, that ALL my pets, but if I listed them separately then it would not be fair! LOL

2. My husband. Yes he is one of my favorite things. He is there when I need him.

3. My Friends. For without friends, life would be so dull and lonely!

4. My Ability to stay busy. Yes, I have gained the art of being able to do just about any type of crafts I put my mind to. I always wanted to paint/draw, but alas, I do NOT have that talent. I also wanted to sing too, but the pets even run outside. So I stick with what I know.

5. My Kids, grandkids, and my family! Yes, I am lucky to have such good boys and daughters-in-law. I love every one of them.

4.) I'm hungry. Share your very favorite recipe!!

My most favorite recipe..just scroll down on this blog. It is CHICKEN SQUARES. The recipe and pictures will show you what they are. Boy are they the best thing ever! (You might have to go to 'previous posts because I may have posted that in January.)

Thank you so much!

I have been so busy. I really try to get some posts every day,
but they slip by so quickly!

WE GOT SNOW LAST NIGHT!
I am so sick of this white stuff!
I think it will be gone by noon,
but everything is quite white out there!

Here I am when I go feed.
This was the last snow we had, (1-24-09)
and it looks almost like this, this morning.
The weather man, just said:
"We should see some sunshine this afternoon!"
Yeah right, for what? All of 3 minutes?
I NEED SUN!
I NEED VITAMIN D!
I NEED TANNING! LOL
I don't do the tanning scene, but it just feels good.

Ok...
Well I am off to work.

Horse Tracks

I just LOVE the site of horse prints in my driveway! It just gives me a feeling of comfort. Don't know why. They are different than the horse prints in the pasture. I think it might be because it means that I had my Ladies out playing with them.

Today we were really busy! We got up! I actually slept in till 7 AM! WHOO HOO! I NEVER sleep that late, but I think I was making up for not sleeping the night before. Plus I took a couple of advil before going to bed, so I think that helped to kill the pain I feel from laying in one spot while I sleep.

Anyway, We went to a gun show in Walla Walla. Hubby wanted to go. He found some really good deals on some brass. He reloads his own. It was shoulder to shoulder people on there. Hubby said that they should give Obama an award for topping out gun sales! LOL...Oh well. I guess it is a good reason for Hubby to get a new gun! LOL...

Then we swung by my brothers house to say hi! WOW! IT had been OVER a year since we have seen each other! I could not believe it! How time flys! But it was good to see and visit for awhile. My sister in law was working, and I do miss visiting with her.

Then on home. When we got home the sun was shining and it was NICE! For once....So I got the Ladies out, and played with them. Sadie was first, because Sissy is Pretty buddy sour, and so she has to stew a bit while Sadie and I go for a walk. After a good brushing of course. (Mental note: Need to bring out the Apple Bitter and spray in Sadies Mane because the F$#@ Neighbors horses are chewing it off!) We walk down the drive way, down to the highway. She needs to learn the "Walk" and "Whoa" commands, and so I am working on that with her. She was pretty skittish, and kept sniffing the ground, and just all around pretty nervous. Ummm.....tells me more walks are in the future.

Then we go back to the hitchin tree, and I clean her hoofs. I do that last, so that I only have to do it once, and that way I make sure she does not have any gravel in her feet when I put her back in the pasture.

Well I take the halter off Sadie, and Sissy walks off. I thought, "You little twit!". So I put the halter back on Sadie, and we go for another walk around the shop, so Sissy can't see us. She is whinning for us to come back. We hang out for a bit. THen I go back and put Sadie back in the pasture. Sissy walks off again. Well I just walked beside her untill she whoa'd. (Mental note, got to work on that)....

Took Sissy out. Good brushing down. Then we went for a walk. Down the drive. Stopped and walked. She remembers. Not nervous at all. So we walk all the way down to the highway! A big semi passes....wow! Lots of noise.. Sissy just stands there....not bothered by anything. So I wait for traffic to clear. Then we Walk along the highway, about 30 yards, to my neighbors drive. Cars passing. She does not even seem to notice!

We make a turn up our neighbors drive! WOW! Off the highway, and I am way more nervous than Sissy! But we made it. So hard to not show your nerves, and I know she can sense it, but she doesn't act it either. We get back to our yard, and after we had turned off the highway, I kept thinking, I COULD OF RIDDEN YOU! LOL.... (Mental note: Gotta work on my riding confidence!) She gets her feet cleaned, and off to feed them dinner.

As I walk back to the house, I look at the hoof prints. Just gives me a soft spot in my heart! I love my Ladies!

We walk in front of our house, like behind the horse trailer......

Down this lane which goes to the highway. Took a left at the highway and around that white trailer there in front of the truck, and out the drive, that is at the front of the truck, and back home.

See! I could of rode her. This was last summer, and a very good friend of mine rode Sissy across a busy highway, and down to the river for a trail ride. It was awesome! Here Sissy just patiently waits for the traffic to clear!
(This is the lane at the Morrow County Line, about 3 miles from my house.)

She then crosses the Highway.

Walks past places with all sorts of things.

And back home, (just up from the Morrow County Line, not to far from my friends house), and Sissy enjoyed every minute of it!
WOW!
(My friend riding her)
Yes it will be ME some day soon!

I still love horse prints in my drive way!
